Your thoughts on Evo Dog Food for Puppies
Permalink

Been searching around for quite some time or well ran into some topics here and there like just recently on the american bully forum on this food along with pups being on it. Ive got my male on it which is doing great and hes 13months old, my pups which is going to be 4months i fed to in beginning and she LOVES it. I read up on some comments ppl had left about it being too much protein and makes the organs work harder to process the protein along with them drinking much more water to flush the kidneys since the protein puts work on the kidneys...I'm not sure if this all or some makes sense but maybe it does but it kinda scared me a bit so i eased off and its been wellness for her BUT she HATES it and will walk away so i layed evo down for a test to see and sure enuff she went straight at it like shit had crack in it, lol.......i just wanted to know what the ppl here think about it and a puppy feeding off it, safe, unsafe, things like that so lets hear it fam! Thanks for the input

evo is a little too rich. i recommend that you give her some food with less protein or if you going to stay on evo she should be doing a lot exercise bc the large amount of protein is hard on the organs. I have my dogs on kirkland signature from costco and they r looking great. i will try to find the dog food grade post that was up a couple of wks ago.

Had my boy on the Evo Red Meat and expensive but looked better on that than any other dry dog food hands down. I also noticed to me less shedding and very small shits

Lol i had mine on Evo but walked her alot and fed RAW at night. I took her off the Evo for about a month now and wont go back on it till about a yr or close to it, noticed her stomach sides starting to get bigger and making her a bit fat so thats y i backed off. I have her on pretty much the next best thing which is Wellness Puppy and still feed RAW (chicken 1/4's) at night, soooooo much better now and shes almost where she needs to be.

I think it has too much protein for young puppies. Try Taste of the wild if they have it where you are at it is no grain and not as much protein the venison has 32% and the others have 25% I think. My dogs love it and they are doing well on it and it is much cheaper. I get it here for 40 a bag and evo is 60
